F4AF Happy to be Hammered
Mike_Diver by Mike Diver June 9th, 2004
Loads of you will already know that Metal Hammer magazine (it's the one behind Q... no? Keep looking... found it? No? Ah well...) held some awards on Monday night. Some metal bands won them. Who'd have thought? Here's something of a round up; feel free to post your comments telling me this is old news below. Ta.

Best UK Act: Iron Maiden
Best Live Act: Slayer
Best International Act: Metallica
Best Video: The please go away Darkness (for that crap video on some mountains)
Spirit of the Hammer (?) Award: Nikki Sixx, Motley Crue
Breakthrough Award: Funeral For A Friend

F4AF's singer Matt - who I saw outside Gloucester Road tube station the other day; he's one short fella - got all excited, like a little boy with a toy fire engine or something like that, and said: "The award is the most metal thing you've ever seen. It's a skull head with a rather sexy looking cloak, a snake on the bottom and the metal sign in a bony hand."

F4AF are about the least metal thing I've ever seen, so quite how they picked up the most metal award going is puzzling. Ah well... some bands played too but they were all rubbish READ SOMETHING ELSE.
