Manchester band Doves are to play no further gigs or festivals for the rest of 2006 as they concentrate on writing the follow-up to Some Cities.
The band - currently working on new material at a farm outside Manchester - posted the following on their website:
“We've been in there for a couple of weeks now, mainly setting gear up and ironing out our usual technical problems! We've also bought some great vintage studio gear that we've always fancied.
“The idea is to record everything here and maybe mix elsewhere and produce the record ourselves, but knowing us lot that could all change if we get sick of the smell of cow shit on the farm!”
