Brit winners Kaiser Chiefs are perfectly content with their domestic success, stating that they're not keen on pushing their wares across the Atlantic a la so many other homegrown talents that have subsequently failed to break the US market.
The band told Now magazine that they prefer Leeds to LA, bassist Simon saying:
"A band like ours is all about being in touch with the people who buy our music. We don't want to keep going away just to sell a few more albums. I'd rather be in Meanwood in Leeds than Hollywood any day."
The Kaisers have a fair following in the States already - they're able to play 2,000-seater venues - but won't purposefully look to build upon that level of success. "We're really happy with what we've got over here," said singer Ricky Wilson. "You have to give up years of your life if you want to break America."
