Triptych 03: The Lowdown
smckeating by Scott McKeating March 14th, 2003
Tennent’s Lager.

a) A particularly bad hangover
b) How refreshing its fine balance of 23 hops and stuff is
c) An sponsored annual 3 day festival of quality musical acts in 3 Scottish cities called Triptych.

The 2003 Triptych Festival, now in its 3rd year, runs from the 25th to 27th April in the City Centres of Aberdeen, Glasgow and Edinburgh, and promises a more varied line up than your average festival.

DiS highly recommends you book early to marvel and mosh (where applicable) to the following acts:

The Bays
Big Youth
Derrick Carter
Carl Craig
Christ (ex Boards of Canada member, not messiah)
Four tet
Go-Betweens
J-Live
Kid Koala
Plaid
Roots Manuva
Sly and Robbie with Grace Jones
Sons and Daughters
The Vines
Zero 7 (DJ set only)

Not satisfied with offering techno, hip-hop, jazz, indie, reggae, soul and avant garde and improvisational gigs, the event also offers a plethora of workshops run by artists of the quality of Talvin Singh and Kid Koala. Places are scarce and will undoubtedly be in demand, so, hey, get in there quick and email workshops@triptych03.com - that's if you want to register for...

D.J.-ing Technical Skills And Industry Background
Music Video Theory And Practical Application
Band Dynamics And Musicianship

For general ticket enquires call the ticket hotline on 0870 220 1116 or get yourself to any Ticket Scotland outlets in person. Alternatively, you can visit the Triptych website.
