Apparently, it took asking people to find that 2/3's of the nation is bored of manufactured tv production line, souless, lifeless covers done in a stars in their eyes style, crap TopShop pop.
The survey was commissioned by Virgin Radio and found that 63% of teenagers believe there are too many manufactured acts around, that 82% feel more support should be given to 'real music talent' and that 67% of the public want a halt to the procession of manufactured music. This follows Virgin's decision to ban Will Gates or whatever they're called, from their playlist made of Coldplays and Bowies.
Although these findings are bound to be pretty close to the nation's feelings and will prove what Virgin wanted to prove, you might wanna know that the survey was of 1000 record buyers, all over 16. What I wanna know is, why is the music industry being kept alive by 7year olds when music, great, timeless music, which will sell forever is universal.
This news follows reports of the Sunday Times Rich List which found puts these musicians in there:

These are not Sunday Times top 10 by any means. However, within the top 500 richest people in the uk which also revealed that Pop Idol man Simon Fuller made £30 million from the show. Pop Idol judge and apparent A&R man (which stands for artiste and repitiore!?!) at BMG, Simon Cowell, earned £3m last year which is a helluva lot more than soon-to-be-an-embarassing-nobody Will Young with just £500,000. It's a sick, sick, business. But at least it's funding the Cooper Temple Clause's imprint with BMG.
