Feist’s last album has won this year’s Shortlist Prize.

The Reminder, the Canadian singer’s third solo record, is the seventh winner of America’s Mercury Prize-equivalent. Its success follows that of Cat Power’s prophetically self-fulfilling The Greatest which emerged victorious last year.

An awards panel comprised of Snow Patrol’s Gary Lightbody, Killers drummer Ronnie Vannucci, CMJ New Music editor Rev. Moose and assorted radio DJs decided the album was better than the following:

To qualify for the Shortlist Prize an album needs to have gone on sale between January and November 2007 and to have shipped under 500,000 copies.
