Orange Evolution Festival set for this May
Lorelei_22 by Laurel Dreher April 13th, 2005
And some more fun festival info....

The Orange Evolution Music Festival will be taking over the North East May 19-30th this summer. Newcastle and Gateshead will be home to over 30 indoor gigs that will take place over the course of the festival. Also, on Bank Holiday Monday (Monday the 30th), the Quaysides of these two venues will play host to a free music festival spread over three sites. It's expected that over 25,000 people will be there. Peer pressure says you better be there, too.

For the free outdoor stages, the following acts have been confirmed:

The Innovation Stage @ Spillers Quay: Dizzee Rascal, The Ordinary Boys, Super Furry Animals, Mylo and Dogs Die in Hot Cars, The Rakes, and El Presidente.

The Imagination Stage @ Baltic Sqaure: The Futureheads, The Others, Carbon Silicon, Fightstar, Hard Fi, Vatican DC, Kubichek, and Boy Kill Boy.

The Inspiration Stage @ Quayside East: Candi Staton, Misty in Roots, American Music Club, Kristin Hersch, Martin Stephenson & The Daintees, and Vic Goddard.

Throughout the week leading up to the free concerts on the 30th, you'll be able to see acts such as Jason Pierce (and his band Spiritualized), KT Tunstall, The Resentments, Tsunami Bomb, and Doug McLeod and Brendon Croker, among others.
