More names added to Download Festival 2005
Lorelei_22 by Laurel Dreher April 13th, 2005
Following the quaint British tradition of having seemingly a million different festivals, here's some news on one such event....

The Download Festival 2005 has just added a list of new acts to its bill for its 3-day musical jaunt, June 10-12. Among those recently added to the playlist for both the main stage and the Snickers stage include: Finch, Wednesday 13, Queen Adreena, Mad Capsule Markets, and The Mooney Suzuki.

The event already has many big names to adorn its headlining list, including many chances for you to scream your lungs out and/or violently thrash about to the tunes System of a Down, Black Sabbath, Feeder, Velvet Revolver, Slipknot, Slayer, HIM, and rock's punk prince, Billy Idol.

Also a feature of the festival will be the Snickers Unsigned Band competition, which will spotlight one up and coming band. Three groups will be playing the London Barfly on April 21st, and only one will be chosen by the panel of industry judges to join the likes of the following groups (as well as many more):

FRIDAY MAIN STAGE:
Wednesday 13
Queen Adreena

FRIDAY SNICKERS STAGE:
InMe
Apocalyptica
Underoath
Lordi
Fozzy
Flogging Molly

SATURDAY MAIN:
Mad Capsule Markets
The Mooney Suzuki

SUNDAY SNICKERS STAGE:
Shadows Fall
Finch

Tickets will be available starting today, April 13, through the official Download Festival website, or through www.getlive.co.uk, www.aloud.com, Ticketmaster and all the other usual ticket outlets.

Also check the official website for a full list of everyone who's playing. Word.
