Busted - is the end nigh?
crablin by Colin Roberts December 23rd, 2004
Charlie Simpson, the 'one with the eyebrows' from top pop-rock sensations and undisputed Record Of The Year title-holders Busted, came worryingly close to leaving the band on Saturday.

Between the mid-afternoon matinee performance (for Band Aid) and the evening performance at Wembley Arena, Charlie allegedly told the rest of the band he was to announce his departure live on stage, citing the idea of 'going out on top of their game' as his primary reason. He was only talked around by fellow bandmates James and Matt in an extended session of begging.

The show marked the end of a mind-blowing year for the threesome who have tried and indeed failed to crack the US market, sold millions of records and come out as raving Conservative Party supporters

The boys now have a three month break to enjoy, whilst Charlie's 'alternative' side-project Fightstar take to the road for a mini-tour in February, with the premise of an EP being released around that time as well.

DiScuss: Would you mourn the loss of Busted? Could McFly have a part to play in their downfall? Are we going to get the usual message board fracas following this article?
