"Immigrants are the basis for all of the countries problems"

dove_from_above [Edit] [Delete] 01:11, 5 June '06

My friend Tom said this today. I laughed, thinking he was joking. It then quickly transpired that he wasn't

What followed was me arguing with seven (seven!) of my friends over this ridiculous statement. A few of them didn't even know the difference between an asylum seeker and an illegal immigrant

How often to you find yourself in a situation where you're just like, I really cannot be arsed to argue with this kind of thing?

Is it best to keep quiet and let it go? Or is it the best option to speak up and defend the voice of reason?
