my 20th 65daysofstatic gig

utm_usic [Edit] [Delete] 14:12, 7 May '06

is on saturday! i should have reached the 20 mark ages ago, but lack of funds meant that i only got to two dates on the last tour. 19 was last month in brussels, and the 20th is in brugge this weekend. no wonder i have no money.

it feels different now to how it used to though. something's missing. back in february last year when i saw them play in a dodgy pub in derby, they seemed to enjoy it more. when i saw them in brussels last month, they seemed a bit cold. their energetic performance, while being brilliant as usual, seemed a bit contrived maybe?

i'll ask a question now to make this thread worthwhile in some way. is it inevitable that when bands become more 'successful', they lose some of their enthusiasm? i'm thinking that if you're a small band, and you work hard and tour like hell, and finally you achieve some level of success, you have less things to aim for, so to speak. am i talking rubbish?
