Cassettes

thommo [Edit] [Delete] 13:17, 28 April '06

So i thought it would be a fun idea to make some music and pass it off as art. As you do. And because i am two parts techno-phobe, three parts cheapskate, one part retro-lover and another part indie purist, i thought it would be a good gimmick to release everything on cassette.

A few days after sending some material off to some national DJs, i find this:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/onemusic/2006/04/formats.html

Add on to this how some DiSers have said that they have nothing to play cassettes on, and the recent news that the last TDK factory has ceased to manufacture cassettes, i wondered whether people in general still liked the format or think that it should be resigned to the place where Betamax, SACD and other long-gone formats went to become nostalgia and nothing more.

IN OTHER WORDS: cassettes - yes or no?

DiSghuzz.
