So how should the tolerant tolerate the intollerant? leading on from the idea that 'although the majority may hate what the BNP says they will fight for the right for them to say it'

Where exactly would you all stand if an extremist party included in its policies 'the abolition of democracy and representation'.....would you guys then allow them to exercise their democratic right and possibly get elected? alright it may not be likely but it is an age old liberal conundrum.....

i.e. because you live in a democracy does that give you the right to go against the majorities wishes.....I know where I stand, but what about you?
