Big 'Phil' Scolari: Next England Manager?

bobbygeorge [Edit] [Delete] 13:27, 24 April '06

According to the press today, Luiz Felipe Scolari is now joint favourite to be the next England manager. This whole 'application' process is a farce and whoever thinks that Steve Mclaren is as good an appointment as someone who has won the World Cup and reached the final of the European Championship is surely an idiot (but most of the FA are).

Is anyone else really hoping, like me, that Big Phil gets given the job? Also, how embarrassing is this interview process and exactly what questions are they asking for it to take so long? It also annoys me when English managers, such as Pearce and Allardyce moan whenever a manager who isn't English is mentioned. If there was an English manager who is as experienced and qualified for the job as someone like Luiz Felipe Scolari then I'd be happy for them to get it, but there isn't.
