Should he have been sacked (pushed to resignation) from Radio Lancashire?

Do you know what he said? During a regular bit of banter with a couple of other presenters, the respected presenter used the phrase:

"Now who's going to be the nig-nog?"

Now, this term was an olde Lancashirian saying, used to signify a stupid, idiotic fool. The conversation at the time had absolutely no reason to refer to the person with the apparently racist insult.

Would you have pressured him to leave, because a bunch of over-PC twats took something he said the wrong way?

I remember reading a letter in the Burnley Express from some old woman saying: "My younger grand-daughter was horrified at the language this man came out with. Polluting the airwaves with racist filth is not acceptable..."
