New terror law comes into force

Mr_JDTraynor [Edit] [Delete] 14:07, 13 April '06

Be careful what you say publicly!!

How will this law be used? Clearly, it's intention is to use it politically. This law exists to try to prevent people expressing political views that are opposite to the views of the British government. But, take as an example, the conflict in Israel and Palestine:

If a Palestinian rocket shoots down an Israeli helicopter that had just fired rockets at an Palestinian town, which of the follwoing public statements would be a breach of this new law:

(a) I support the Israeli military's actions

(b) I support the Palestinian miltants' shooting down of the helicopter

Both of these statements are imbued with political opinion. But, would they be treated differently given the British governments stance to support Israel.
