firstly, i want to punch myself in the neck for using the word 'date'.

tonight, i went out with a girl from work. it was fairly impromptu, as we were meant to be going out in a big group but people cried off. we were both closing the shop and i suggested we go for something to eat afterwards.

here's the facts:

- i have wanted to ask her out for a while, but never have because we work together. didn't want any awkward situation to arise. i'm a horrid coward like that [shrug-but-LOL-emoticon].

- despite being pretty and clever, 'on paper' she is not my ideal woman or anything but there's something about her which makes me really fancy her. possibly that she's funny.

- we had a good time, i took her number and suggested we go out next week. she said maybe, as her disertation has to be in very soon. which is true, we talked about it a lot, so i hope that's not an horrendous blowout. [drama-queen-emoticon]
