All of Football's Problems

Panic [Edit] [Delete] 12:27, 5 March '06

Seems like there's quite a few problems - when is there not actually! - in football at the moment. A thread seemed necessary.

*Diving

This is the one that winds me up the most. as I play centre back. When a player purposely tries to get another booked I think it's disgusting, it's the worst type of cheating. But, what can ANYONE do to stop it? Is it embedded in football culture? Can the referee ever judge diving with the mistakes it may entail?

*Surrounding the referee

I think this is just a ridiculous thing players do. When managers have openly said they use it as a technique to confuse the referee I can't see how the FA can not stop it. Would post-match committes who analysed these events be more effective than a referee? What penalties should it entail? Sending offs? Even if it meant 7vs7 come full time?

*Racism (In case against Eto'o)

Sickening. Not much more else to say.

What's everyone's views?
