You know how characters in Dungeons & Dragons had levels - so like a level 1 fighter was crap, but a level 18 thief could nick your gold teeth despite your mouth being closed:

I have a theory is that you can translate this ranking system to the indie obscurist-band hierarchy, sub- divided by genre.

I would consider myself a level 9 indie/level 8 metal-punk/level 5 electronica indieboy. Whereas Raz (no favouritism, just easy to pick on ;) ) would be a level 17 METAAL!!

so. where would you peg yourself in this slightly anally-retentive system?
