Introducing Darth_Ratufa

iShotTheDeputy [Edit] [Delete] 09:16, 23 January '06

Yes, since she turned to the dark side and ate meat, I think it's time nicey got a proper Sith name.

A quick check with my zooligist Yoda gave me this:

"I have googled the squirrel question, handy FAQ responses here, http://www.squirrels.org/faq.html I see no reason to distrust this, although it does not seem to be the most scholarly of resources. The largest squirrel seems to be Ratufa indica, Indian giant squirrel (about three feet in total length, about half of this seems to be tail [body up to 45 cm]). These guys weigh up to 2 kg.
"However, the family sciuridae includes some ground bound animals. The largest of which are marmots (in the US groundhogs and woodchucks), these can be over 60 cm in length (body only) and way up to 5 kg. In The Big Lebowski, The Dude is attacked in his flat, the henchman set a pair of animals upon him in the bath, although The Dude says "nice marmot" when he first sees one of the animals, it is not a marmot but a ferret.
"I think the smaller ones are nastier though."

So, we'll go with the Indian variety!

Heh heh. Right, now I've got to find Darthy a red lightsabre. :-)
