I've installed some pretty hardcore number-crunching routines on the DiS server and as a result recommendations and similar artists/users are back.

To make it easier to get good recommendations, you can now rate the things it suggests all on the same page, and get new improved recommendations immediately!

Also the taste similarity thing is back in user profiles (with an explanation)

You can also see the most similar and opposite users to anybody you like, look on their profile

Also, you can now browse through artist profiles on a 'users who liked... also liked...' trip.
