a question for philosophers

fuckyeahdavidbowie [Edit] [Delete] 13:00, 8 April '16

hello

i've recently been reading spinoza's 'ethics' and have nearly come to the end of the book

as one does with such things, i'd like to read some secondary literature on spinoza, and it seems that many people recommend deleuze's 'spinoza: practical philosophy' as an important text. i'd like to read this as a possible route into understanding deleuze's thought also, so it seems like a good idea

however, as far as i can tell he uses nietzsche - who i'm not so familiar with - as a key point of reference. has anyone read this book? would i be able to follow the discussion without knowing 'the genealogy of morals'? if not, what other books on spinoza would you suggest?

thanks for your help. feel free to discuss other philosophical investigations you've been engaged in recently also, i'm not so fussed
