My Dad is going to buy a car on its last legs

wonton [Edit] [Delete] 19:08, 21 March '16

He's completely clueless about cars (then again, so am I). But he's agrees, in principle only, to buy a 2004 Toyota Yaris from a local garage for £995. Thing is...he didn't ask about the mileage...and their website omits that detail too (so is therefore sensible to assume it's done over 100,000?). All the other cars have mileages.

When I said in principle, no money has changed hands and nothing signed...but apparently the garage was giving a free MOT before the sale (that's in my dad's words). I presume he's totally fine to walk away from the deal? The only stickler is he's not keen on breaking his "agreement".

It is worrying me a bit as he doesn't have much money and can't afford to replace another car in a year or two.
