Learning to love your belly

hip_young_gunslinger [Edit] [Delete] 09:21, 26 February '16

I was a skinny kid but while I was long and gawky I've probably always had a bit of a belly. Since university, when I've not been so skinny, I definitely do. Over the past decade my weight has probably gone up and down by about 3st, but at no point, even at my most svelte, have I not been carrying weight on my stomach. It's always been there.

So, with this knowledge, is it time to embrace my paunch? Is this just my fundamental body shape? I feel like the only way I could ever shift it entirely would be a fundamental overhaul in both diet and exercise, literally changing every single thing about my lifestyle to focus on getting washboard abs. It seems pointless. And the moment I stopped, it would just come back anyway. Surely it's better to just focus on a healthy overall weight, even if I won't look so good getting out of a pool?

Still, in 30 years time when I'm weary and frail, I'm worried I'll look back at when I was relatively young and relatively fit and didn't manage to take at least one photo of my Hollywood abs.

Fuck you, Chris Pratt
