anyone doing this? I want to set up my payments to account (for 15/16) to be paid off monthly so I don't have to do it full whack.

Left it till now though and apparently it takes 5 working days to set up a direct debit, and then 3 days to collect first payment. So I will miss the due date and incur a penalty.

Can I make a payment of X amount today by card/BACS whatever, and then set up a DD payment plan separately? As in, I don't need the first payment of my plan to be made by DD. But I can't see a way online of setting it up that way... Found myself just wanting to go ahead and do it and hope they join the dots (very foolish).
