I saw Velvet Revolver once, at the Cardiff CIA. It was good fun. Duff gave my a mate a thumbs up and threw him a pick. A really drunk guy in a leather jacket with nothing underneath kept falling over and crying about how much he loved Guns 'n' Roses. And a review in the paper the next day mentioned how they play Sweet Child of Mine, when, and I am 100% sure of this because I was there from lights down to lights up, they definitely didn't. Never trusted newspapers since.
