What did you struggle with? What were you good at? Do you reckon you're a naturally good driver?

I had loads of lessons before I went to uni but then, uh, went to uni before I could take my test. 5 years later I'm re-learning to drive and I'm definitely not naturally gifted. Roundabouts make my brain go completely blank, I'm constantly forgetting to check my side mirrors, and nearly had a meltdown when I had to drive in the dark (although that was only on my second lesson of the re-learning process). Please tell me your stories of the trials and tribulations of learning to drive, and any handy hints you have.
