Sunday trading laws

Forget the SNP angle for a moment. Should the government relax Sunday trading laws in England in Wales?

I feel conflicted about this. Don't want to be someone that tells people what they should and should not do, but I cannot shake the idea that society would lose something as a consequence. At the risk of conflation, should preservation and enhancement of tranquil and restful Sundays be the objective? Look what they are doing in South America: http://www.theguardian.com/cities/2015/nov/11/viva-la-revolucion-mexico-city-cyclists-fight-right-safety.

Will it lead to poorer contracts for workers – the erosion of the weekend? Or, will they have a greater choice? A more flexible labour market benefits all, no?
