Ghostwatch

Fuzzy_Dunlop [Edit] [Delete] 12:27, 15 October '15

Went to a rare screening of this at the cinema yesterday evening, followed by a Q&A with the director and screenwriter. It's still scary, but also unintentionally hilarious and dated in places.

Truly pioneering television, maaan. I was nine years old when it was first broadcast, it really shit me up it did. Remember reading about a couple of cases of kids who suffered PTSD as a result of watching it.

If you think this was before stuff like Blair Witch and all that pseudo-documentary horror stuff. The mundane suburban setting plus the fact it was on the BBC with recognised presenters involved (Michael Parkinson!). And of course Pipes.
