clarification of the correct way to cook roast potatoes

Silkyskillz11 [Edit] [Delete] 09:42, 29 September '15

I've done this thread before, but I need to vent my spleen again in a fresh thread.

was round at one of my all-time dogs the other day and he said he'd do some burgers and roast potatoes for dinner. pretty odd combination, but I like both of these things, so fuck it...I'm in.

was out in the kitchen with him and I noticed he was putting the potatoes into the roasting tin without par boiling them. what the fuck, man!

told him he was doing it wrong, so we decided to have a roast off. half par boiled, half chucked in raw.

obviously I'm going to say this, but mine were waaaaaaaaay better. he said they were too greasy. cheeky bastard.

we're going to have another roast off soon - I wasn't happy with the potatoes he was using and he only had olive oil. we've decided to get in an independent adjudicator in to judge a blind taste test.

so yeah - roaties. SURELY you have to par boil?
