In light of the 'inbred' comments concerning the ever declining gene pool of the boards, how is a new poster expected to behave?

I've been skulking around here for about 10 years but have only recently decided to contribute.

Is it a closed shop?
Do you require a bio?
Should we just chime in with the established bants?
