So I've recently started supporting this local non-league football team

Fuzzy_Dunlop [Edit] [Delete] 13:03, 9 March '15

I've bought a scarf and have attended seven games, one of which was an away fixture. Starting to get to know the other fans and exchanging some banter at matches.

Thing is, I really can't stand the bit when you talk about the team as "We". As in, "We could do with a new left-back". It just feels more natural to me to refer to them as "They".

Maybe this means I'm not a full supporter yet. Maybe the time will come when it feels right, and there'll be no going back after that, I'll be tied to the team for life.

After saying "We" dozens of times throughout a match I feel really ashamed and feel like going to the toilets and hitting my head against the wall there.

I'm kind of worried what might happen though if I said "They" instead, would I be ostracized form the ground?
