Shoreditch spoon shop

hip_young_gunslinger [Edit] [Delete] 16:28, 11 November '14

There's a shop on Hackney Road, right, called Barn the Spoon, and it's a man who sells hand-carved wooden spoons. I walked past the other weekend and he was in there, whittling away, shavings all round his feet.

The thing is, I can't fathom what business plan Barn the Spoon goes by. I looked on the website, and a spoon will set you back £30 - but how many can he sell a day? How much is his rent on that unit? Even doing carving courses, how can he afford to pay himself and live and stuff?

SPOONMAN.
