Stealing at work

valenci [Edit] [Delete] 11:29, 5 November '14

Having partially worked in HR over the past few years, I've come across a fairly hefty (but minority) number of people working in fairly respectable positions, deemed as loyal, trustworthy and as generally good all-round people getting done for doing some proper naughties at work.

This has varied from people nicking stationary (probably everyone) through to folks stealing and selling pricey stuff online right up to accountants cooking the books to give themselves a few (ie a LOT) extra coins at the end of the day.

I've got increasingly disillusioned with seeing examples of seemingly good people doing these sort of things - normally when they've been caught it's been found that they've been in big financial difficulties, can't pay the bills, fighting off baillifs etc which kinda makes me feel sorry for them.

But it all makes me wonder if it's the case that most people will lower themselves to some pretty dodgy behaviour to keep everything ticking along?

Anyway, make me feel even worse about people/life by telling me what YOU steal from work...
