An exciting Monday morning thread about larders / pantries

vamos [Edit] [Delete] 09:42, 13 October '14

Realised a few weeks ago that in our house, the cupboard which houses the washing machine is actually a larder / pantry built in the 1930s. We’re rejigging the layout of our kitchen a bit soon and were thinking of bringing it back into commission.

We used to have one in my student house too and I thought it was pretty cool (pun intended). Certainly seems like a big space to store tins, drink, veg, etc but would probably still keep meat, cheese, milk etc in the fridge.

Any experiences of having one now or in the past? Bet a few people here had Nan’s who kept well stocked cupboards…
