NFL Thursday Night Frozen Tundra thread (Week 5!)

Severed799 [Edit] [Delete] 16:17, 2 October '14

How has a quarter of the season gone already? How is it October? How is the Baseball Playoffs happening already?

So summer is over and what way to bring in the cold weather than watch a game between two ice-bowl teams who play practically in the Arctic circle:

SKY SPORTS, 1:30 AM
MINNESOTA VIKINGS @ GREEN BAY PACKERS

Well, Off the field Drama aside, the Vikings, like that other team in Purple, have overcome adversity and actually played pretty damn well without their star, with Matt Asiata (cheers for the fantasy points last week) and Jerick McKinnon proving that two people can do one persons' job. The Packers however have not been able to get the ground game going with Eddie Lacy not looking his best and a non existent/injured James Starks. The Vikings are coming off an impressive win against a dangerous but flawed Atlanta side (Axis called it) by continually running at them down the middle and keeping the pressure off, an equally impressive Teddy Bridgewater (who is still Questionable but probably will start).

The Packers' D haven't been much better against the run than Atlanta, so expect the Vikes to get some good yards once again on the ground. About the only thing Green Bay have continued to look impressive on is through the air, but that's not really that surprising. Aaron Rodgers' mauling (lol) of the Bears last week will keep Minnesota's secondary on their toes all night, so this should be a pretty intriguing contest all in. This game will come down to defence, neither team of which are famed for, but the Vikings have been easily stronger at so far this year. If they can contain and get to Rodgers, they may well just steal this one in a hostile enviroment, but if they can't then it will be the second week in a row Rodgers outscores a division rival. WEEK 5 ALREADY
