What are some good self-righteous things I can do this Christmas?

Pegfeet [Edit] [Delete] 10:16, 12 September '14

Last Christmas me and my boyfriend stayed at my parents' house. The original plan was for us to go to his family this Christmas but owing to MAJOR FAMILY ISSUES that is no longer happening. As part of his new job, he's spent some time working with homeless people at a centre, and said he'd like to spend this Christmas volunteering there. I agreed to do it with him so we'd spend the day together. He was there yesterday and mentioned it to them and they said they were completely fully booked for volunteers on Christmas Day, and had in fact referred so many applicants elsewhere that all similar projects in Birmingham were fully booked too. I know there are some people who might argue that's a terrible thing, but I think it's pretty cool.

Anyway, we're now in a position where we're probably going to be stuck having Christmas round at ours on our own. Which is fine. But it just feels like there must be opportunities to feel self-righteous and superior out there. So we can make people feel terrible about the relaxed, glutenous day they had when they ask us what we did for Christmas.

What shall we do?

What are you doing?
