Trolling and aggression on the internet and how it's changed

OpenTheSatellites [Edit] [Delete] 20:11, 4 September '14

The thread about new Moderators for Dis got me thinking. Yes, in 2006-2007 there was a lot more trolling and aggression, but at the same time, there was a lot more honesty, and transperacy. You knew exactly what someone was thinking, and what they were saying- and the result for me us I got chatting to loads of people and met them, without fear that they had put on an act.

Now, everyone 'behaves themselves' but, if it happened all over again now and I was a new user, I wouldn't meet anyone, because I know they are hiding their feelings and I'm not getting a true idea of their character.
I guess that aggression and argumentative side, and lack of decorum was quite nice to see and I loved that honesty.
