is there actually such a thing as a cheap weekend break?

LostMoyes [Edit] [Delete] 19:30, 20 May '14

as in, y'know, overseas. i'm not convinced.

i'm looking for, say, three nights away somewhere in Europe, preferably not a proper touristy hotspot. i thought they were a thing, but when you actually do the maths they're still a few hundred quid - cheapo flight on Easyjet or similar, maybe £150-£175 return. unless you fancy bunking with half-a-dozen other people you're looking minimum, what, £40 a night for a single room in a hostel or a budget hotel, say, idk, £60 a day to spend, bit of a contingency, that's £500, ffs.

am i doing it wrong? is £500 cheap for a few nights away? any tips you numpties can give? shoot...
