I'm going to specsavers

PickledOeuf [Edit] [Delete] 17:02, 13 May '14

after work as I've lost my glasses which is fine for doing most things in my daily life (I am only a bit short-sighted), but means I'm probably not insured to drive and unless I am front row at the cinema or a gig or the football, I can't see anything really. In fact I am having to sit closer to the TV just now to be able to see any script that comes onto the screen, which is not on at all.

SO, I am going to actually replace my glasses after work.

I HAVEN'T HAD NEW GLASSES IN ABOUT TEN YEARS. What shall I go for? What styles are nice?

Are we agreed that coloured rims are probably not advisable if you work in the ‘Professions’ (that sounds wanky- what i mean is, would you want your lawyer to have lilac and green rimmed specs or stick to simething more classic/ muted>?) Or can we get away with more frivolous glasses? Are Big Hipster glasses OUT now? (I wouldn't get them anyway, don’t be ridic, LoL.)
Most decent pairsa seem to be around 40-50 quid but I should probably do the 'buy one at 60 quid and get another pair free thing' as I am good at breaking glasses. but is there a con?

Are they going to try to get me to spend a fortune on fancy lenses and insurance?

HELP. (I do not want 'designer' ones as i think they look dreadful.)

I am so not used to the opticians.
