Change jars

Fuzzy_Dunlop [Edit] [Delete] 10:31, 11 April '14

Sorry, don’t get them. So you return home from the shops/pub and let’s say you put any coins under £1 into your change jar. What’s the point? It’s not saving as you don’t get interest. In fact it would depreciate over time, would it not.

Can sort of understand that it might be useful if you need change in the morning for the bus, but you only need the change because you took it out of your wallet and bloody put it all in your change jar when you got home from the pub last night.

There’s the extra, quite significant, hassle of having to empty the change jar every so often and count it all or take it down to the bank. Total waste of time.

Basically it’s for children whose parents are trying to teach them the concept of saving money.
