BUFFET FOOD

marilyninthesky [Edit] [Delete] 20:32, 6 March '14

What food do you like at a buffet, or as my mam calls it, 'spread'? Growing up in South Wales, buffets normally consisted of stale cheese and onion or corned beef sandwiches, cheese and pickle on a stick, Ritz crackers, big chunks of cheese, cocktail sausages, pork pies and HP nuts with strong sherry trifle for desert.

Since moving to London I guess my tastes have changed a bit and I'm putting on a bit of buffet on the weekend for a party at mine.

So far I've planned:

Garlic stuffed olives
Antipasti (made with artichoke, sun-dried tomatoes, more olives, whole garlic)
cheese loaded potato skins
houmous of all different varieties
grilled pita bread
homemade courgette, tomato and garlic with olive oil
crisps
crisps
cheese and onion sandwiches
quorn scotch eggs
veg samosas
veg pakora
stuffed mushrooms
potato smilies
potato salad
bit of salad I guess.

And lots and lots of booze.

So, at a buffet, what do you reach for and fill your plate with?
