It was in an email, in response to something annoying that would be happening today in the office - I can only assume that they meant to say 'batten down the hatches', but a) I can't imagine that they would really think the phrase was 'button up hatchet', or b) that they was aiming for 'batten down the hatches' and mistyped it that badly.

What else could it mean?
