is it right to be iffy about emailing your credit card details to a business?

alcxxk [Edit] [Delete] 18:42, 18 September '13

was planning on doing this next wednesday:
http://www.hoxtonhotels.com/hoxton/events/#92 (get a load of food, free if i eat it all in an hour, £39 if i don't)
they ask for people to preregister, which makes sense.
now they say that preregistration consists of me giving them my credit card details, in a word document as an email attachment, so they can bill me if i "fail" the "challenge".

im thinking "naaaaah, fuck it i'll just not overeat like a weirdo"?
