The positive spin: Moments in films which are totally amazing

ThierryEnnui [Edit] [Delete] 13:43, 22 August '13

The bit in The Adventures Of Baron Munchausen when the Baron and Sally have landed on the moon and the screen is a night sky which starts wobbling as their boat enters the shot and the light slowly comes up on one side and the stars are replaced with rippling sand as it traverses the frame (can't find a clip but if you've seen it it's this bit: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IrsRnkYBb-U/SNgVJAKVePI/AAAAAAAABY4/ijc6WQzOsVQ/s320/munchausen19.jpg). Totally indicative of why fantasy film making needs physical effects rather than digital.
