So a lot of the time I take holidays to a relatively urban location, stay in a hotel, visit some museums, nice restaurants, yadda yadda, all perfectly lovely. Similarly, you might stay on a resort lying by the pool or whatever.

But I feel inclined towards something a little more active, like doing a certain trek/walk in the country, or taking a really gorgeous train route over the course of a week, or maybe even something educational, like staying somewhere nice and learning to speak Portugese or to cook Spanikoita or whatever. Not too retired pensioner if possible, and not too extreme sports / shitting in a ditch in the wild.

Anyway, what holidays have people taken based around a certain purpose? Little bored of `sightseeing` / `relaxing` (firstworldproblems).
