Bit niche - academic fraud-centric

Epimer [Edit] [Delete] 18:57, 7 August '13

This is being spammed all over my Facebook and Twitter threads, which should give you an idea of how many super cool people I'm friends with/follow.

Anyway, scroll down to page 12 of this: http://pubs.acs.org/doi/suppl/10.1021/om4000067/suppl_file/om4000067_si_002.pdf

Where you will see an absolute clanger: "Emma, please insert NMR data here! where are they? and for this compound, just make
up an elemental analysis..."

This is the supporting information of an journal article which has been published in a very respectable peer-reviewed journal. And right there, in black and white, is evidence that the academic is encouraging students/co-workers to just concoct data out of thin air.

Whoops.
