words / phrases that will eventually be deemed offensive

legz_akimbo [Edit] [Delete] 11:37, 12 July '13

what do you reckon will be stuff you say in the future that your grandchildren will silently, or vocally, disgusted by?

I've lost some books for my african american course that i need to take back to the library and most of them have 'negro' in the title. I feel pretty awkward asking people if they've found a copy of 'the negro author'

Also my nan says stuff like 'coloured', which isn't really on any more and 'spastic' used to be fine but now it ain't.

Feel free to discuss semiotics and the like.

Words eh?
