Today’s shit thread (there are no fish puns): What is Professionalism?

moker [Edit] [Delete] 12:21, 3 July '13

Srs bro. I don’t get it. I googled it (like some Generation Y fuckhead) and it said “Professionalism is the competence or skill expected of a professional.”

Thanks for that. To me, professionalism is just how good you are at looking busy, shutting up, supressing your personality and being a cog in the machine.

Do you think Donald Trump is “professional”? What about Boris Johnson? Or any successful start up entrepreneur anus.

When people in offices talk about being professional, what they mean is grinding yourself into a paste so you can do a job satisfactorily. (tm – songs_about_ducking)

I’m in a good mood today so I’m not ranting. It’s just funny that the people who are seen as professional in most workplaces are the ones who’ve managed to stomp their personality out of them so they’ve become robots. AMIRITE?
