Do you try to be the funniest person on the whole damn thing, or just stick to a perfunctory "happy birthday!"?

I just broke from my usual Stark minimalism to write "valar morghulis" on a Game of Thrones themed card. It has occurred to me too late that writing "all men must die" on an ageing man's birthday card might possibly have been in poor taste.
